Stock exchanges catch their breath and look to the Fed

Piazza Affari and the European stock markets are up after five days of heavy declines on fears of Brexit. Tonight the meeting of the Fed monetary committee which should leave rates unchanged. In Italy, spreads are falling. Banks and real estate are doing well in Milan

Piazza Affari and the other European stock exchanges take a breath of fresh air, after five consecutive days of heavy declines on fears of Brexit. 

Investors seem to have momentarily shifted focus from Britain to the US: The Fed's FOMC is meeting tonight. Expectations are for nothing in view of a possible rate hike in July, provided that Great Britain decides not to leave the European Union. 

At the macro level, good news for the English labor market, with unemployment at an 11-year low, while in the euro area the trade balance surplus recorded a slight contraction in April.
In the United States on the other hand, the release of the data on industrial production is awaited, scheduled for this afternoon at 15:15, for which insiders expect a drop of 0,1%. 

Substantially Euro/US Dollar stable, which continues the session on the previous day's levels of 1,122. Gold continues the session just below parity, with a drop of 0,21%. Bad day for the Petroleum (Light Sweet Crude Oil), which trades at $47,84 a barrel, down 1,34%.

The spread goes down, settling at 147 basis points, with a drop of 3 basis points, while the 1,48-year BTP reports a yield of XNUMX%.

Among the indices of Euroland, good insights on Frankfurt, which shows a large lead of 1,06%, positive performance for London, which grows by 0,96%, sustained Paris, with a decent gain of 1,45%.

Euphoric session for Piazza Affari, with the FTSE MIB which shows a leap of 1,51%, reversing the trend with respect to the series of five consecutive declines, which began last Wednesday.

Appreciable upside for the Banks (+2,89%),real estate (+1,87%) and Chemicals (+1,76%), with lenders subject to coverage after the large decreases recorded in the previous days.

Among the best performers in Milan, they stand out Banca MPS (+4,10%), Mediobanca (+3,57%), UBI Banca (+1,76%) and Unicredit (+2,53%). The worst performances, however, are recorded on Anima Holding, -0,78%, and Ferrari, -0,74%.

On the rest of the list, investors are watching closely Rcs +0,81%, on the possible arrival of a Chinese partner alongside Cairo for a raise. 

In cash EEMS +2,69%, after returning to profit in 2015.
