The banks and Telecom Italia give impetus to the Stock Exchange

Piazza Affari is, together with the Madrid Stock Exchange, among the liveliest stock lists (+0,68%) – Bank stocks shine and Telecom Italia again which has now hit a bullish trend – Sales on Yoox, Buzzi, CNH and Saipem after the leaps of the past few days.

The stock markets of the euro area maintain a good intonation in the afternoon, which is accentuated after the cautious but positive opening of Wall Street.

Piazza Affari closed up 0,68%, at 22.459 points, supported by the banks; Carige rallies, +9%. Meanwhile Mario Draghi, from Frankfurt observes that the final agreement on the Basel III rules, which closes the post-financial crisis chapter, is a major milestone that makes the framework of capital rules robust and improves confidence in the European banking system.

Madrid scores +0,84%; Frankfurt +0,36%; Paris +0,18%. London was in a bad mood, -0,37%, weighed down by the uncertainties of Brexit and the 48-hour ultimatum from Brussels. Weak Zurich, -0,36%.

In New York, the technology index is slightly up, supported by the quarterly better forecasts of Broadcom, with a solid demand for microprocessors.

The euro-dollar exchange rate has not moved much and, despite the fact that the eurozone's GDP is improving, the cross remains below 1,18. The greenback is still supported by optimism on the arrival of the tax reform and its effects on the stars and stripes economy. From currencies to cryptocurrencies: the indefinable bitcoin fever continues, which, in a few hours, exceeds the threshold of 15, 16 and then 17 dollars. Bitcoin now has a market capitalization of over $270 billion.

Among the commodities, the descent of gold continues, to its lowest level for about five months below 1255 dollars an ounce. Oil, on the other hand, is trying to recover, with Brent up by 1,34%, to 62,04 dollars a barrel.

The bond issue was stable, in a session with thin and typically pre-holiday volumes. The yield on the 10-year BTP is 1,71%, on its lowest level for over a year, even if the spread rises by 141.50 basis points (+1,8%%).

In Piazza Affari, the banks regained share, in particular Bper +3,24%; Banco Bpm +2,74%: Unicredit +1,95%. Carige flies out of the Ftse Mib, after the outcome of the capital increase, subscribed at 66% in the option part closed yesterday, with the 500 million operation however already virtually covered at 100% thanks to the further subscription commitments, the tranche of the reserved bondholders and to the guarantee syndicate. In contrast, Creval, -5,82%, which will have to face a capital increase of 700 million at the beginning of next year, while the rejection of Fitch at 'B-' fuels the market's doubts about the risks of the operation. Nervosetta Mps, -0,97%, on the day in which the Court of Appeal of Florence acquits the former leaders, Mussari, Vigni and Baldassarri.

In pole position Finecobank, +2,27%, which updates its historical highs, in the wake of data on November collection higher than forecasts. Telecom did well, +2,25%, which appreciates further after yesterday's excellent performance.

In fashion, Moncler did well +2,49%, Ynap fell -1,49%. Another session down for Buzzi, -1,16%. Red Cnh -0,99%; Recordati -0,68%; Unipolsai -0,41%.
