The banks suffer and send Piazza Affari into the red

Piazza Affari takes a break for reflection on the day of the government's showdown in the Senate - The best title is that of Juventus - Spreads rising towards 220 points.

Piazza Affari takes a pause for reflection in anticipation of what promises to be a key day in terms of internal politics. At 15 pm, Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte will be in the Senate to make announcements on the League's motion of no confidence in the government. Pending the events, the index marks a fall of around 0,3% above 20.650 points. Madrid loses the most -0.40%, modest gains for Paris and Frankfurt, less than 0,2%.    

This morning Matteo Salvini relaunched his economic recipe. “We in the League – he said – have a clear 50 billion economic maneuver in mind. First of all? Lower taxes. And Europe will understand”.   

The BTP weakens to 1,45%, from 1,43% yesterday. In the meantime, purchases on the Bund are back, the yield drops by two basis points to -0,67%. WTI oil climbs 0,3% to $60 a barrel. Saipem drops by 1,38% Eni and Tenaris are not moved. 
 
Gold appreciates again and regains 1.500 dollars an ounce: +0,5% to 1.501 dollars. According to Nitesh Shah, director of research at WisdomTree, if geopolitical risks remain high, gold could rise above $1.800 an ounce. The euro is flat at 1,107 against the dollar.  

In the midst of so much uncertainty, Juventus' rebound stands out +4% - on rumors of interest in Neymar. Attention was also drawn to the stock by a study by Boston Consulting according to which Juventus is the Italian company that has created the most value for investors over the last five years, with a Total Shareholder Return (TSR) of 36%.  

Banks and utilities retreat. Bper Banca and Ubi Banca lose 3%, in line with Banco Bpm. The Citadel Europe fund increased its bearish call by 20% to 8,24 million shares, or 0,7% of the total. Unicredit also down -1,5%. Italgas -1,6%, Enel -0,7%, and A2A -1% are down. 

Tim also down -1,5%. the commissioner of the Communications Guarantee Authority, Francesco Posteraro, declared that he is verifying whether this summer's increases implemented by mobile telephone operators comply with current legislation, in terms of transparency and communication to customers. 

Prysmian gains 1,5%. Brembo also advances +1%. Out of the main basket Piaggio +2%, Safilo +2%.
