In the Genoese headquarters of Castello Mackenzie, alongside the traditional antique auctions, specialist auctions will take place aimed at niche sectors such as marine art, scientific instruments and table clocks, while the auction of Italian majolica will be auctioned in Milan.

With the seafaring art and scientific instruments auction, Cambi marks a return to its origins, when in 2001 it published the first catalog dedicated to this specialist sector.

In the first morning session on the 18th, a selection of scientific instruments will be sold, including scales, microscopes, planetariums, octants and globes including (154208) a pair of celestial and terrestrial globes, John Smith, London (€ 6.000 - 7.000). In the early afternoon, the auction will focus on the sale of exceptional naval models made by the expert hands of craftsmen of the past, such as lot no. 83404 large model of sailing ship armed with sixteen cannons estimated at 8-10 thousand euros, the portraits and gouaches of famous sailing ships are really interesting, such as no. 136179 – Tommaso de Simone (1805-1888) Portrait of the HMS Majcienne in the gulf of Naples estimated € 5.000 – 6.000 and coastal scene n. 144534 – 3.500th century English school valued at €4.000 – XNUMX.

On 18 October at 17.30 pm in Mackenzie castle, a heterogeneous collection of table and wall clocks will be auctioned, which finds one of its greatest points of interest precisely in the variety of pieces that make it up. Italian, French, English, Dutch, Austrian and German pieces alternate in the catalog offering a multifaceted image of the changes that technique and taste have undergone over approximately 5 centuries of history. Among the most important pieces (155357) Louis XV table clock, Germany, 5.000th century with wooden case with gilt bronze trimmings and feet, silvered metal dial with gilt interior, numbering in Roman and Arabic numerals, signed John Georg Rieff (€6.000 – 15537). Also part of the collection is a nocturnal clock in ebony (1690), semi-precious stones and gilded bronze, Florence, circa 15.000, of architectural style, with grooves on the sides and a drawer at the base, decorations with panels in polished semi-precious stones in shades of red and green within gilt reserves non-contemporary dial painted on copper with Christ and the disciples within a landscape, in the upper part an opening reveals the hours, marking them for quarters of an hour; the movement bears the signature Gio Monginot; verge escapement (€ 18.000 – XNUMX).

The traditional Antiques auction will take place on 19-20 October which, thanks to the great variety and quantity of pieces on sale, manages to attract numerous curious as well as industry experts. Among the items on sale is a richly carved and gilded Louis XV console (153639) with mirror, Genoa, 10.000th century, with finely carved scroll legs with cascading floral patterns (€12.000 – 154334) and a circular table (6.000) and six chairs en suite in veneered and finely inlaid wood (€ 7.000 – XNUMX).

The Milanese appointment at Palazzo Serbelloni scheduled for Tuesday 25 October at 15.00 offers a collection of important Italian majolica from the Renaissance to the Baroque with the exceptional contribution of Dr. Carmen Ravanelli Guidotti who oversaw the catalog and selection.

Among the noteworthy highlights we find (155434) Faenza majolica cup, Baldassarre Manara, c. (€ 1535 - 75.000) on whose surface the myth of Actaeon transformed into a deer and an Ur-bino majolica plate, Patanazzi, representing the gladiator duo show are historiated (€ 80.000 - 30.000).
