The investigations by the Guardia di Finanza in the Lazio Region broaden the political spectrum and after the PDL they reach the Italy of values. Vincenzo Maruccio, IDV group leader at Pisana, is being investigated for embezzlement, the same charge contested against "er Batman" Franco fiorito, former Pidiellino group leader in the Region. The prosecutor Stefano Pesci and the assistant prosecutor Alberto Capena suspect that Maruccio has diverted through wire transfers 500 thousand euros intended for the party on his personal current accounts. To this sum should be added another 200 thousand euros of cash withdrawals from two accounts of the Italia dei valori group.
Maruccio “has resigned from the party, as regional coordinator of the party, from his role as group leader and above all as regional councilor – announced the leader of the IDV, Antonio Di Pietro -. The judiciary is right to ascertain the facts”.
The investigation was also launched on the basis of a report from the Bank of Italy. Pesci is the same magistrate who investigated Luigi Lusi, the former Margherita treasurer accused of having stolen several million euros from electoral reimbursements.
The investigations on Maruccio are coordinated by the assistant prosecutor Alberto Caperna, who proceeds with the substitute Alberto Pioletti against Fiorito.
