Extension of the freeze on layoffs e free extraordinary layoffs until the end of March. The Government decides to cut the bull's head and to extend the anti-crisis measures, which would have expired in a few weeks, by several months, to give breathing space to an economic fabric that risks reliving the enormous difficulties of recent months. Both because a mini lockdown is already underway, and because another greater one is in the airperhaps nationwide.
The decision was made by Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte after the meeting with the unions, who they had threatened a strike in the absence of an extension of the blockade in March, while Confindustria had set the free Covid cash register for companies as a condition. And in fact he welcomes the government's decision: "The extension of the freeze on layoffs for emergency reasons is justified if access to the Covid cash register does not provide for any contributions for the companies that use it and the premier has agreed that this will be the case", reads a note.
La generalized gratuity of the Covid fund however, it presented itself as a particularly onerous condition due to the difficulty of finding additional resources: the Ministry of the Economy took steps, thanks to a different articulation of funds already provided for by the 2021 Budget Law, 5 billion, which are added to 1,1, 2 billion allocated in the August decree. The first 6 billion have already been used to finance the first 4 weeks of the new Cassa Covid, provided for by the Ristori decree, while the other XNUMX will be used from January.
Resources that therefore make it possible to guarantee the Covid-19 cash for the entire period at no cost to businesses, regardless of the loss of turnover. Later, explained the Minister of Labor Nunzia Catalfo, companies that are entitled to it will be able to start using the ordinary redundancy fund again. The others will be able to ask to still use the extraordinary Cig, but it is difficult to think that the ban on dismissal still accompanies its use.
