The Adventure of Italian Comics in Rome until 9 June

The Bold Bonelli. The Adventure of Italian Comics: these are years of fervent celebrations for the world of comics, in the world and in Italy. And Italian comics often have a recurring surname:Gianluigi Bonelli whose 2011th anniversary of birth has just been celebrated and which, in 70, celebrated the XNUMXth anniversary of the purchase of the Audace editions, which will transform into the current most important publishing house in Italy, under the leadership, after the war by his wife Tea. But this exhibition is especially dedicated to his son Sergio, who sadly passed away last year, leaving a huge void in all his readers and whose name means and will always mean a guarantee of popular publications.

In the years, Naples COMICON he has almost never failed to collaborate with the historic Milanese house, for exhibitions, guests and events; however, the time had come to pay homage to Sergio Bonelli Editore with a large "total" exhibition that also took stock of this publishing phenomenon in the world of the Ninth Art which is almost unbelievable.

It is a necessary and fascinating project that allows us to show together some of the most famous characters and sagas among fans (and not only) of Drawn Literature, and who have gone through decades of Italian history unscathed, maintaining the quality, as well as the professional seriality. Too many would be to mention, in so many years; Tex, above all, of course, but Dylan Dog, Martin Mystère, Magico Vento, Julia, Dampyr, Nathan Never, as well as early heroes such as the Commander Mark, Little Ranger, Zagor, up to the very last Saguaro, Dragonero e The Orphans
Over 200 original plates are on display, with particular attention to the color covers, in a group exhibition that exhibits works by more than 50 designers. All tables, divided into large thematic sections, ranging chronologically from the beginnings to the present, passing through all the great characters, the prestigious Italian and foreign signatures.

During the opening period, the public will be able to meet some of the authors on display thanks to meetings, debates, screenings and autograph sessions, which will be scheduled in a calendar of events that will keep interest in the exhibition alive.

Finally, an important catalog was created to accompany the exhibition event which brings together in a volume of more than 240 pages unpublished critical contributions and many very rare images.
