Work, all the fears of Italians

With the robot fear comes too. If on the one hand indeed the robotics industry is experiencing significant increasesAt the same time, fears are growing among workers about the repercussions both for maintaining their jobs and on the practical consequences of new technologies in the factory. A widespread fear, expressed by 85% of workers on the impact of the technological revolution, a percentage that reaches 89% among workers.

In particular, the most consistent fear concerns the risk of losing your job of work: a fear shared by 7 million Italian workers. These data emerge from the very recent Censis-Eudamon report presented to the Senate. It is nothing new that new technologies reduce jobs in the short term, but usually multiply them in the medium and long term.

But if the main fear is to be kicked out of the company due to the "fault" of the robotization of work, there are other fears affecting future working conditions.

For 50% of the interviewees they will impose themselves more intense pace of work, for 43% the hours will be extended, the security it certainly won't improve according to 28%, while 33% are convinced that it will work worse.

Still others think that in the future you will earn less (58%, which becomes 63% among blue collar workers) and that there will be fewer guarantees and safeguards (50%), by increasing conflicts in the company.

In short, fear is the prevailing feeling in today's world of work. Many fears are well founded and many others are not but it is up to politics, if it is capable of it, to take charge of it and transform fears into better living and working conditions.
