Work: new permanent contracts +30,5% from January to July

According to data from the Ministry of Labour, in the first seven months of 2015 there were almost a third more new permanent contracts than in the same period of 2014: the total exceeds one million new jobs - The data also includes the agricultural sector.

Between January and July, the number of new permanent contracts increased by 30,5% over the same period in 2014 (from 830.788 to 1.084.461), while terminations rose by only 4,9% (from 632.938 to 664.136) . This was announced today by the Ministry of Labor in the flash note relating to last month, which concerns the activations and terminations of all employment relationships, net of the domestic work and Public Administration sectors. The data also include the agricultural sector.

In July there were 135.417 more employment contracts, calculated as the balance between those activated and those terminated, but only 47 of these are open-ended. In June, the balance of new contracts was +61.098, with a negative balance (-9.768) for permanent contracts. The transformations had been 34.651.

Ministry data show that the incidence of permanent contracts on the total of those activated in July has grown to 18% from 13,9% a year earlier; the incidence on the total of those terminated is instead 21,8% compared to 21% in the same period of 2014. Also in July there were 27.328 transformations of fixed-term employment contracts into open-ended contracts; there were 21.429 in the same period of 2014.

On 7 March, the open-ended contract with increasing protection envisaged by the Jobs act entered into force, which does not provide for reinstatement in the event of economic dismissal. Furthermore, from 8.000 January, companies that hire on a stable basis enjoy tax relief of up to XNUMX euros per year for three years.
