Work, recruitment: 1,3 million contracts by August

The employment relationships that Italian companies expect to activate between June and August amount to around 1,3 million. Of these, 510 thousand (equal to 40,4%) are those scheduled for June. This is what emerges from the Bulletin of the Excelsior information system, created by Unioncamere in collaboration with Anpal, based on the expected revenues of companies with employees in industry and services between June and August 2018.

The study also shows that the tourism chain, with 130 jobs to be filled by the end of the month, is also driving the growing trend in the share of businesses that will offer jobs in June: 27,8% of sector operators express, in fact, the need of incoming personnel (against 23,5% in May), thus helping to bring the share of hiring companies to 17,8% (against 16,2% in May).

The increase in companies planning to hire is accompanied by a peak in the number of planned entries. The entry rate (which expresses the ratio between the number of planned entries and company employees) rises, in fact, to 4,4% (compared to 3,7% in May), the highest value since the first data on a monthly basis from the Excelsior information system. However, the effect of seasonality is evident, given that in tourism an entry rate of 11,2% is reached, 3 points higher than that of the previous month.
