Work: 250 contracts up for grabs in August

Of the 250 employment contracts that industry and service companies intend to enter into in August, up by 7,9%, 30% will cause difficulty in finding them. Are some of the information contained in the Monthly Bulletin of Excelsior information system, realized by Unioncamere e Anpal, on the basis of employment contracts lasting more than a month that companies expect to activate in August.

The planned revenues in the current month highlight increases both in the industrial sector (+10,7%) (revenues compared to August 2018), and in services (+6,8%). Even the forecasts for the entire August-October quarter present a positive scenario, with an increase compared to the same period of 2018 of 52,6 thousand activations, as a result of approximately 39,6 thousand contracts to be activated in the tertiary sector and 13 thousand in industry.

In the industrial sector, the drivers of labor demand are the sectors of metallurgy and mechatronics with expected increases of more than 2.000 contracts compared to August 2018; in the tertiary sector, on the other hand, in addition to personal services (4.140 more contracts), significant increases are expected (more than 2.000 entries compared to the previous twelve months) in the tourism sector (+2.320) in transport and logistics services (+2.470) and in advanced business support services (+2.060).

Another positive element to report is the high incidence of young people wanted by companies: out of 250 contracts to be activated in August, in fact, about a third is aimed at the under 30s, mainly sought after in the tertiary sector and in particular in the tourism sector (42% of expected revenues).

However, it is still growing share of hard-to-find figures which stands at 30% of the total of revenue compared to the 24% recorded in August 2018. The Purse of Professions shows that companies have particular difficulties in the month of August in finding IT technicians (over 50% of contracts have this characteristic), artisans and workers in the food chain (51% of hard-to-find figures) and operators in the wellness sector (52 %).

In all areas of the country, the contracts to be activated should grow compared to the month of August 2018. In particular in the North-West the planned revenues would be around 75, with a trend increase of over 10 entries. The increase expected in the South is also significant which, with 69,2 thousand contracts, would increase by around 5.000 entries. Lastly, the increases expected to be registered in the Center (+2.200 activations) and in the North-East (+900 approximately) are more contained.
