In March, Italian companies expect 359 hires, 41 more (+13%) than in February and 67 more (+22,9%) than a year ago. So hold the job application, although the worrying increase in energy and raw material costs against the background of great uncertainty about the fate of the war in Ukraine, factors that are jeopardizing the economic recovery. These are the numbers contained in the Bulletin of the Excelsior information system, produced by Unioncamere and Anpal on expected job recruitments for the current month.

However, the analysis confirms the growing difficulty of finding companies: at 41,1% of planned revenues, up by almost 9% compared to March 2021 when 32,2% of the profiles sought were difficult to find.

Labor, manufacturing and construction boost hiring

In industry, the positive trend was confirmed in manufacturing with 75 entries (+2,3% on the month and +5,9% on the year) and construction with 37 scheduled hirings (+1,9% on the month and -4,6 .20% on the year). Leading by the mechatronics industries which are looking for 1,8 workers (-12% on the month and +18% on the year), followed by the metallurgical and metal products industries (5, +8,4% on the month and +9 % on the year) and by the food, beverage and tobacco industries (5,5 thousand, +6,4% on the month and -XNUMX% on the year).

The survey also confirms that the majority of contracts offered by companies are those Temporary: with 184 profiles sought, equal to 51,3% of the total. Following i permanent contracts (78 thousand), supply contracts (41 thousand), other non-employee contracts (24 thousand), apprenticeship contracts (16 thousand), other employee contracts (10 thousand) and collaboration contracts (6 thousand).

Work, the difficulty of finding the profiles sought is growing

As for the professional figures sought, the share of recruitments for which companies declare difficulty in finding them stands at 41,1% (+8,8% compared to March 2021), which rises to 58,4% for skilled workers, 56,1% for executives, 48,0% for technical professions and 44,1% for intellectual and scientific professions.

The reason mainly indicated by companies is the lack of candidates which in March 2022 was expressed for 24% of the profiles sought compared to 16,6% instead found in March last year (+7,4%). Then follow the inadequate preparation of the candidates (14,3% of the profiles sought) and other reasons (2,8%). 

Among the most difficult figures to find are Technicians in the management of the production processes of goods and services (67,2%), Artisans and specialized workers involved in the finishing of buildings (67,1%), Foundry workers, welders, tinsmiths, coppersmiths , metal carpentry fitters (65,8%), IT, telematics and telecommunications technicians (61,1%), craft mechanics, fitters, repairers and maintenance technicians of stationary and mobile machines (61%).

At the territorial level, these are the enterprises of the regions of North East coast with 46,9% encountering the greatest difficulties in finding them, followed by those of northwest (41,2%), South and Islands (38,6%) and Centro (36,6%).
