Compared to 2019, however, above all fixed-term contracts are growing, while permanent contracts remain at a standstill. Confirmed the difficulty in finding the required skills

Work, 257 hires expected in August

The tourist season helps a lot, but not only her. Some of the 257 hires expected in August from businesses, according to a Unioncamere-Anpal study, will take place in the industrial and construction sectors, bearing witness to a climate of recovery and renewed confidence in the economy. Things will go even better in the autumn: overall, in the August-September quarter, Italian companies plan to hire 1,2 million workers (+13,8% compared to the same quarter of 2019).

The industry alone plans 72 entries for the month of August, which rise to over 342 in the time horizon of the August-October quarter, with growth rates of 3,2% and 10,9% respectively with reference to 2019. Even better is the tertiary sector, with the services that plan to activate 184 thousand employment contracts for the month (+4,0%) and over 878 thousand contracts for the entire quarter (+15%). Thanks above all to the recovery of tourism (+36% of hirings compared to 2019) and construction (+6,2%).

However, all that glitters is not gold. First of all, the positive balance compared to pre-covid is mainly due to fixed-term contracts which, after having suffered more than the other types of contracts from the effects of the pandemic, benefit from the recovery of activities and mark around 10 thousand more units (+7,3% compared to August 2019). On the other hand, permanent contracts are still below the 2019 levels: -10%. Then, the difficulty in finding the figures sought by companies remains high and stands at 32,7%.

They are difficult to find in particular the professional figures to be included in the company area "Information systems" (difficult to find 59,6% of the candidates sought); the professional profiles of the “Installation and maintenance” (48,3%) and “Design and development” (46,2%) areas follow. The most difficult to find professional figures reported in the List of professions are Artisans and skilled workers involved in finishing constructions (60,6%), IT, telematics and telecommunications technicians (58,7%), Artisans and workers specialized in installation and maintenance of electrical and electronic equipment (58,5%), technicians in the engineering field (53%).
