Lavazza: 2012 profit between 40 and 45 million euros

Good news for Lavazza which, according to CEO Antonio Baravalle, counts on close the 2012 financial year with a profit of between 40 and 45 million euro, after the loss of 9,1 million in 2011, and with revenues growing from 1,268 billion to 1,33. However, in an internal market encounter, Lavazza recovered a slice of the market, bringing its share to 48,4% in terms of value.

The forecasts for 2013, again according to Barvalle, are positive. In the coming days, the company will discuss plans for the three-year period 2013-2015, which will focus on a new strategy to penetrate international markets, from which the company currently derives 40% of its turnover, and especially in Germany, France, the United Kingdom and the USA, with the main objective of making the United States Lavazza's second largest market after Italy.

The Turin-based company also announced that 30% of its turnover comes from pods, while 70% comes from the traditional business and above all that it has no intention of going public, given that Lavazza has no debts and does not need financing.
