The Antitrust has authorized the acquisition of Deval (Enel) by Cva

The Deval operation in Valle d'Aosta was unblocked thanks to the decision of the Competition and Market Authority according to which "the modification proposed by the Region is suitable for eliminating the distortions".

The green light came after the Regional Council presented a bill that modifies the functioning mechanism of the 30% discount on energy in the electricity bill: the reduction will no longer be applied to each payment, but there will be a refund at the end of the year. Furthermore, the management of the procedure will be entrusted to the individual distribution companies, but to a third party. Thanks to this provision, the Authority authorized the Compagna valdostana delle acque (Cva) to acquire 51% of Deval and Vallenergie currently owned by Enel.

The Antitrust had contested the discount methods that are granted to users by electricity supplier companies which are then reimbursed by the Region, based on a specific agreement (signed only by Cva and Vallenergie). According to the Guarantor, for national operators the methods of obtaining the discount in fact imply a series of excessively high management costs in relation to the relative weight of the Valle d'Aosta customers.
