Italian agriculture takes Pnrr funds. Is this the epilogue of tractors?

The agrivoltaic decree grants funding for sustainable agriculture. The confusion in the tractor protest

Italian agriculture takes Pnrr funds. Is this the epilogue of tractors?

For two months i tractors they are the symbol of farmers' protest. We've seen all kinds in the squares, on the streets, in front of the institutional headquarters. Yet in Italy the Pnrr plans to replace quite a few. In their place, more modern machines powered by biomethane. THE 193 million euros of the latest decree from the Ministry of the Environment - so-called "agrivoltaic" - are also used for this.

In the countryside there are obsolete, low energy efficiency vehicles and equipment. We need to convert them with biomethane ones, for example. The decree specifies how access help and agricultural organizations are preparing to provide assistance. The provision recognizes a capital contribution of up to 65% of the maximum expenses of 600 thousand euros. In addition to tractors, companies have the option of using more biogas and other alternative sources. In the hot days of the protest against management costs in the countryside, the Pnrr already had an answer. Partial yes, but significant and no government representative has spoken about it.

Farmers and tractors, the decree to access aid

What good is 124 million euros if not to improve the efficiency of the systems of companies? It is the most substantial part of the decree. Another 54 million can be used to purchase machinery for the distribution of organic fertilizer. Finally, companies are given the possibility of creating consortia for the treatment and exploitation of the digestate. Sovereign and ecological?

Let's face it, the meaning of these benefits lies in the desire to continue low impact agricultural management practices and methods. Farmers have some reason to get on tractors. L'Europe since at least 2019 it has created a negative climate towards agriculture. The "Farm to fork" program, innovative and linked to the CAP, was used by the right as an enemy of the environment, when it should instead have been valorized for the measures to support and emancipate the sector. Why did Italy provide so much money in the Pnrr? The government he tried to make the protest his own but couldn't help but recognize the funds for more sustainable agriculture. Nothing more twisted.
