The Fitch agency confirms Italy's BBB+ rating and improves the outlook: the recession is over

The fear is over. Both Prime Minister Matteo Renzi and Economy Minister Pier Carlo Padoan can breathe a sigh of relief. The Fitch agency confirmed Italy's BBB+ rating but above all improved its rating from negative to stable.

The Italian government feared that a worsening of the rating would penalize the recovery and revitalization policy both by causing greater expenditure on Treasury interest and by interrupting the honeymoon underway on the markets between foreign investors and our country. Fitch's judgment is instead comforting.

According to the rating agency, the recession is now over in Italy too, even if growth prospects remain weak.
