In a document describing her global agenda, the number one of the Monetary Fund Christine Lagarde, indicates the way forward to improve the state of the labor market.
Labor reforms are in fact necessary and "important", especially in those countries where the participation of women and older workers must increase to counterbalance the aging of the population (for example in Germany, Japan and South Korea) and "where significant parts of the population, especially young people – are unemployed or under-employed (as in Italy, Spain, South Africa and many countries in the Middle East and North Africa)," said Lagarde.
