Lagarde, appreciation for Obama's plan

The director general of the International Monetary Fund, Christine Lagarde, in a speech from London, expressed words of appreciation for the employment plan presented by Obama. The $447 billion measure "focuses on supporting growth and job creation in the short term."

Lagarde also sent a message to the participants of the G7 meeting gathered this morning in Marseille. "Developed countries must act boldly now, the world economy is going through a phase full of pitfalls". The number one of the IMF has underlined the importance that the countries of the euro area implement the agreements of July on the reform of the bailout mechanisms. “Many countries are at risk both in terms of accounts and in terms of banks. Many lenders in Europe need to be recapitalised”.
