Lacoste sells 30,3% of the Michel heir to Maus Frères

The Swiss group Maus Frères Group, which already owns 35% of the company through Devanley, has reached an agreement with a group of Lacoste heirs for the acquisition of a further 30,3%. This was announced in a press release dated 26 October.

The operation gives the company a value of between and 1,25 billion euros, thus bringing the transaction to a total amount between 300 and 378 million euros.

The internal disagreements between the Lacoste heirs Michel and Sophie favored the acquisition of the company by Maus.

Michel Lacoste was against leaving the company to his daughter Sophie, and persuaded the board to sell his 30,3% stake in the company to Maus.

Obviously the two heirs want to "ensure the perpetuity of family control".
