Frantic anticipation and rain of records for the premiere of "La Traviata" which will be staged on Tuesday 24 May at the Teatro dell'Opera in Rome.
"In presale - declared the superintendent Carlo Fourtes - we have already collected 1,2 million euros and, even before the debut, we have already received contacts to take the production abroad".
The combination of opera and fashion is decisive for attracting the public. But the name of the director is also of great appeal: the Oscar winner, Sofia Coppola, Francis' daughter. Not to mention the stellar costumes, designed by Valentino Garavani with the current creative directors of the maison, Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli.
“I've always loved La Traviata so much that – said Valentino – I designed the four costumes for Violetta in the space of an hour and a half”.
