La Scala in Milan, Cattolica becomes Founder and Supporter

Cattolica Assicurazioni joins the group of companies that support the Teatro alla Scala in Milan: the Venetian company has announced its support for the Milanese cultural institution as Founder and Supporter. Founded in Verona in 1896 to protect small landowners from hail and fire, Cattolica is today one of the major players on the Italian insurance market and the only cooperative company in the sector listed on the Milan Stock Exchange, where it has been present since November 2000. With nearly 3,6 million customers, the group in 2018 recorded premium income of approximately 6 billion euros and boasts a network of 1.439 agencies and 1.924 agents throughout the country. Cattolica Assicurazioni has chosen to support the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, a symbol of Italian excellence at an international level, because wants to be at the side of those who create culture, in the deep conviction that promoting culture is a civic commitment for the benefit of society as a whole.

“I am extremely grateful to Cattolica Assicurazioni for choosing to support the Teatro alla Scala – says Superintendent Alexander Pereira participating in our daily effort to reaffirm its level of artistic excellence. For us, each partner is not only financial support but an interlocutor on projects and an opportunity to intensify our presence in the area.”

“Being able to work side by side with an institution like the Teatro alla Scala – he added Paolo Bedoni, Chairman of Cattolica Assicurazioni – is a source of great pride for us. Creating culture, fostering knowledge and promoting the beauty of the arts are goals that belong to us because they are inherent in our corporate social responsibility. After the agreement signed last year with the Arena di Verona Foundation, and in the wake of other artistic sponsorships, our commitment to enhance the national cultural heritage continues. Supporting two of the most famous opera houses in the world allows us to contribute to the development of Italian excellence and tradition.”
