American Rome has two thorns: Totti, cold with Baldini, and De Rossi, courted by the English

MANCHESTER CITY AND CHELSEA TRY DE ROSSI.
BALDINI – TOTTI, NOW IT'S FREEZING.
ROME, OFFERED 7 MILLION FOR STEKELENBURG.

It's not an easy time for Thomas DiBenedetto's Roma. The transfer campaign is progressing, but the team is still an open building site. Furthermore (and this is a novelty in Trigoria) there are problems with the Totti and De Rossi flags. "Captain future" is the thorniest case for Walter Sabatini. The midfielder has a contract that will expire in 11 months (June 30, 2012), that's why Roma are trying to renew it for him. De Rossi has niched for the moment, and according to someone this is an unequivocal sign of his desire for a change of scenery. The case has been dragging on for some time, but it literally exploded yesterday, when Manchester City's maxi offer arrived from England. Mancini is ready to offer 25 million for De Rossi's price tag, as well as a salary for the player of 9 million per season, a figure that Roma could never match. But the Roman is also very popular with Villas Boas, who, after Essien's injury, are looking for a solid midfielder for his Chelsea. Abramovich certainly has no shortage of money, as does Sheikh Mansour. The Giallorossi midfielder is silent for now, but his silence makes a lot of noise. Yes, because to put out all the market fires, it would be enough to renew the contract, which, at least for the moment, has not happened.
But the problems with the flags don't only concern De Rossi. The interview given by Franco Baldini to the newspaper "La Repubblica" threatens to severely undermine relations with Totti: "Francesco still has 4-5 years of career ahead of him - said the new Giallorossi general manager - but he will have to look only at football and not take charge of something else. He must get rid of his laziness and those who use his name, even without his knowledge. He must stop letting go, the lighter he will be, the further he will go with the ball ”. Very heavy words, which left even DiBenedetto stunned. Totti preferred not to comment, but the phrase spoken to a "friend" ("I'd better shut up or something bad happens") says a lot about the captain's mood.
In all this chaos, Sabatini is trying to buy a goalkeeper. After throwing everyone off track with Kameni (the Cameroonian is in fact "frozen"), the Rome director has returned to the office for Stekelenburg. The offer to Ajax has been increased: 7 million against the 6 previously proposed. While waiting for the response from the Dutch, yesterday (finally!) it was official for Josè Angel Valdes and Nego.

JUVE, IN THE USA WAITING FOR ROSSI.
TODAY THE MEETING FOR VIDAL.
BRAZIL SHADED, APPLE TREE DIVIDED BETWEEN GERMANY AND Türkiye.

Juventus landed in Philadelphia tonight, ready for the tour that will see them tour the USA until the end of the month (on 23 July they will face Sporting Lisbon in Toronto, on 26 in New York against Club America, on 28 in Raleigh Chivas of Guadalajara). But, while Antonio Conte prepares the team on the field, Marotta and Paratici work frantically on the transfer market. Giuseppe Rossi's dream is about to come true, but before celebrating the announcement, some more details need to be filed. However, the deal is well on its way, which is why Juventus are confident of adding Rossi to their teammates in the USA.
In the States, on the other hand, Arturo Vidal will not be seen, but only because the Chilean, busy until Sunday with the Copa America, will enjoy a few days of vacation. The midfielder is very close to the Bianconeri, as confirmed by the words of Bayer Leverkusen general manager Holzhauser: “Arturo at Bayern? No, he will go abroad ”. Marotta met Felicevich, the boy's agent, and the understanding is total. Now only the signing with Leverkusen is missing, but from Germany they claim that Bayer has lowered the claims to 12 million, effectively satisfying Juventus.
The sales front is more complicated. Amauri and Felipe Melo will not go to Brazil: too little time to enter into negotiations with Flamengo and Corinthias, given that the carioca market will close tonight at 23.00 pm (Italian time). Parma and Naples like Amauri above all (Genoa have turned to Floccari), but Melo should be the first to go. The Juventus managers are evaluating whether it would be better to sell him outright now (for only 10 million, against the 25 spent to buy him in 2009) or if it would not be better to loan him out, to then resell him in twelve months taking advantage of his possible revaluation. At the moment there are many clubs that want Melo: PSG, Galatasaray, but above all Borussia Dortmund. At the moment the Turks and the Germans are in pole position to buy it. But the sales will not stop there: for sale there are Sissoko (Real Sociedad), Almiron and Ekdal (Cesena), Grosso (Al Ahly), Iaquinta (Zenit St. Petersburg). Meanwhile, the termination of Tiago's contract is official, and he will soon join Atletico Madrid, the team where he played (on loan) for the last two seasons.

MILAN, BERLUSCONI STUDYING THE MOVES FOR THE FUTURE.
MONTOLIVO ARRIVES, BUT THE FANS GRULN.

Monday night's dinner in Arcore served to reiterate a concept: Berlusconi doesn't want to stop investing in Milan. The ruling on the Lodo Mondadori therefore won't stop the Rossoneri market, even if the scenarios are many. Someone speculated yesterday that the Rossoneri could get out of the control of Fininvest, someone else was still pulling out the Russian investors of Gazprom (who however would like to have majority shares). At the moment, however, there are two certainties: the commitment of Silvio Berlusconi (reiterated to Galliani on Monday as well) and the presence in the club of his daughter Barbara, increasingly at the center of the Milan world. Meanwhile, the market continues on the sly. After the shots at the start of June (Mexes, Taiwo and El Shaarawy), the Rossoneri stopped, at least in appearance. In reality Galliani and Braida are working in silence, away from the spotlight. However, Montolivo's name is hotter and hotter, especially now that Hamsik seems increasingly unreachable. The Fiorentina director costs little (even nothing if a certain Antonio Cassano enters the deal) and would allow the club to postpone the large investment until January (Ganso). The negotiation was confirmed (albeit indirectly) by Carlo Pallavicino, the player's agent: “I prefer not to say anything, because in these cases a half-sentence often creates a case. We have to accept the fact that just as clubs may not renew players' contracts, the opposite is also true. Players must feel free not to renew, without necessarily having to pass for ungrateful traitors". Phrases that smack of farewell, and it can't be a coincidence that last night Galliani dined with Preziosi (some young people were mentioned) and above all with Giovanni Branchini, Montolivo's other agent. The deal is taking shape, but the fans don't seem enthusiastic at all. The names that circulated at the beginning of the summer were louder (Fabregas, Pastore, Hamsik), which is why the name of Montolivo leaves the Rossoneri supporters quite indifferent. Who are still hoping for Silvio Berlusconi's twist.

INTER, LUCAS DEPENDS ON SNEIJDER.
VIVIANO: GENOA INSIST, BUT WATCH OUT FOR BAYER LEVERKUSEN.

He has a very high release clause (50 million euros) and a bright future ahead of him. We are talking about Lucas Rodrigues Moura da Silva, better known simply as Lucas. The young Brazilian attacking midfielder from San Paolo (born in 1992) would have made contact with an Italian club, as admitted a few days ago by his agent Wagner Ribeiro: "We are negotiating with a club from your country - he told Italian journalists - but for now the name is top secret". The rumors speak of Genoa (together with Milan, for a Boateng-style operation), Rome and above all Inter. The nerazzurri would have chosen Lucas for the future, but only in case Sneijder leaves. There is no news on the Dutchman: Inter have never officially put him on the market, but if Manchester United presents an offer of 40 million…
Meanwhile, Genoa loaned goalkeeper Eduardo to Benfica. The move could soon lead to significant developments for Viviano, who would thus become the owner in the red and blue shirt. However, Inter does not intend to sell him before 6 August, the day on which the Nerazzurri will play the Supercoppa Italiana final against Milan in Beijing. However, an agreement on the formula of the deal remains to be found: Preziosi would like to borrow him, Inter instead are asking for at least a co-ownership deal. That's why in the meantime Claudio Vigorelli, Viviano's agent, is flying to Germany to speak with the managers of Bayer Leverkusen, who have long said they were interested in buying the Italian goalkeeper.
On the other hand, there is no news on the Palacio front. The negotiation has been blocked for some time due to Pandev's refusal to move to Genoa, something his agent reiterated yesterday: “The player's will is to respect the contract with Inter. At the meeting in Pinzolo he was found physically ready. He wants to surprise the coach”.

LAZIO, FLOCCARI NEAR GENOA.
PALERMO, SHEPHERD OUT WITHIN 10 DAYS.

After the arrivals of Miroslav Klose and Djibrill Cissè, Lazio's attack is quite crowded. That's why Lotito is trying to thin out the department: while waiting to clarify the Zarate situation (the Argentine could leave, and once Aguero is sold, the request from Atletico Madrid could arrive), the first to go should be Sergio Floccari. The attacker's attorney was contacted yesterday by the Genoa managers, who, for the moment, have put the player as their first choice. In the meantime, Preziosi has loaned Robert Acquafresca to Bologna with the right to buy half.
After a few days of silence, Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini spoke again yesterday. The rosanero number one confirmed that Pastore will leave Sicily, and most probably also Italy: “We are negotiating Pastore with a big club whose manager I personally know. I told them to raise up to 50 million and I will give it to them, even if I would prefer him to stay in Italy". Beyond the figure "shot" by Zamparini (50 million seems really too much), there really are interested clubs, in England and Spain. "El Flaco" likes Chelsea and Manchester City (which, however, most likely, will take Aguero) and Malaga. The offer from the sheikh, owner of the Spanish club, would be the highest, but it seems unlikely that Pastore could prefer Malaga to the more prestigious clubs mentioned above. Unless the sheikh puts a truly indispensable salary on the plate.
