Does the recovery continue or stop? The Hands are back

The historic monthly column on the economic situation edited by Fabrizio Galimberti and Luca Paolazzi addresses the problem of the recovery: is it destined to continue or to run aground? And how is Italy doing compared to other countries?

Does the recovery continue or stop? The Hands are back

Does the recovery go like Fellini's ship? Or has it already run aground on some outcropping rock? And what kind of rock? Is the Italian economy performing better or worse than others? Is the epidemic still a looming danger or has it loosened its grip? Are interest rates going down or up? And the dollar? Why do stock markets seem to live in a world of their own, made up of robust growth that flows into copious corporate profits? And what about gold, the barbarous monetary relic, with its quotation aiming for a record? These are the main questions they answer”The hands of the economy”, the historic monthly column on the economic situation, edited by Fabrizio Galimberti and Luca Paolazzi. Tomorrow, only on FIRSTonline.

While governments try to figure out how to stimulate demand and stay to the rescue of household income and business costs, the European Union has not yet found the balance on the Recovery Fund. AND the defeat of the Spanish candidate for the presidency of the Eurogroup is certainly not a good omen for the Franco-German-Hispanic-Italian alliance which is pushing for a quick approval of the Commission proposal.

We will also talk about the USA, where the tug of war between the Democratic Congress and the Trump Presidency continues regarding the next measures to support the economy, with the November elections in the background.
