The fourteenth to pensioners: when it arrives and how much

The fourteenth to pensioners: when it arrives and how much

In July INPS will pay the fourteenth to Italian pensioners. But be careful: the audience that will cash the additional check (albeit expanded since 2017) is limited by rigid limits and the amount of this extra month's salary does not coincide with that of the ordinary pension. Here's what you need to know based on the message published by INPS on 25 June.

WHICH PENSIONERS OWN THE FOURTEENTH 2020

The fourteenth salary for 2020 is due to pensioners over 64 and with individual (non-family) incomes less than twice the minimum salary, which for this year amounts to 515 euros gross for 13 months: therefore 515 x 2 = 1.030, or 13.390 euros of gross annual income. But be careful: the amount of the benefit itself must also be added to this sum, which varies according to the contribution bracket. In the end, calculator in hand, the maximum income limit beyond which you are no longer entitled to the fourteenth salary amounts to

  • 13.727,82 euros for those with less than 15 years of contributions;
  • 13.811,82 euros between 15 and 25 years of contributions;
  • 13.895,82 euros over 25 years of contributions.

Finally, pay attention to how income is calculated: if 2020 is the first year in which the fourteenth is received, all income for this year must be included in the calculation. If, on the other hand, it is not the first time, the income for benefits for which there is an obligation to report to the central register of pensioners and income other than pension income earned in 2019 must be considered.

TWO PARAMETERS TO CALCULATE THE FOURTEENTH 2020

As we have seen, the fourteenth 2020 changes according to the income of pensioners and the years of contributions paid, but the amount is still between a minimum of 336 and a maximum of 655 euros.

THE FOURTEENTH: A SPECIAL CASE

INPS explains that, "in the event that the total individual annual income is higher than 1,5 times or 2 times the minimum treatment and lower than this limit increased by the additional sum due, the amount is paid up to the amount of aforesaid increased limit".

Translation: anyone whose income exceeds double the minimum treatment, but does not exceed double the minimum treatment plus the amount of the same fourteenth, collects the difference between their income and the maximum limit.
