Juve finds Higuain again and clears the San Siro: Milan ko

With two goals from Higuain, the Italian champions knocked Milan down and for one night they returned to the top of the standings together with Napoli – For the Rossoneri it was a crisis again and Montella's bench wobbled: goodbye to dreams of the Champions League.

The turning point is from Juve. It is the Bianconeri who emerge smiling from the anticipation of San Siro, which sees them overcome Inter and hook Napoli, albeit only for one night. While waiting for their rivals, however, Allegri's team is sending a loud and clear signal to the whole championship: far from a "full stomach", here the desire for the Scudetto is still strong and will be felt right up to the end. Milan, on the other hand, returns home with a defeat that hurts and which forces the club to review, perhaps definitively, its plans: to talk about the Champions League after 5 defeats in 11 matches and with no less than 9 points behind fourth-placed Lazio (who today could become 12) just doesn't make sense anymore. The Rossoneri may have improved slightly compared to the recent past but they are still light years away from the top teams, especially from those who have dominated the championship for 6 years and can count on top level players. Summarizing the concept, yesterday they made the difference: Higuain and Buffon on one side, Kalinic and Donnarumma on the other. The former decided with goals and author's saves, the latter didn't. And so Milan-Juventus ended 0-2, with the Juventus fans mocking their rivals to the sound of "you will win the tricolor" and the latter remembering the victories of the past, as if to exorcise a present too bad to be true. On the shields, as previously mentioned, Gonzalo Higuain: it was he who decided the match with two authorial goals, one in the first half (23') and one in the second (64').

Buffon's save on Kalinic at the end of the first half of the game was also fundamental for the result, a feline reflex (with the help of the crossbar) that defended Juve's advantage and ended up extinguishing Milan's ambitions. “Higuain just had to find the best condition, he played a beautiful game – commented Allegri. – It must not stop, it must be a starting point. He's one of the best centre-forwards in the world and luckily he plays with us. The team handled the ball well, we made some technical mistakes but overall the boys were really good. Swing stopped? Almost…". The Juventus coach's perfectionism clashes with Montella's optimism, although it is evident that both are well aware of the reality of the facts and are only trying to add grit to their own mill. “We played on an equal footing, then a phenomenon like Higuain decided – the AC Milan coach's analysis – Do I expect new drafts after this defeat? No, I expect to find the motivation together with the boys to win the next races". He will be able to do it, because unless there are sensational twists, the club will let him continue his work, at least until the next game. Changing without credible alternatives doesn't make much sense, but certainly Milan can't continue like this for much longer. The goal is not to reach Juve, God forbid, but this is far too little.
