Juve collapses, Inter overrides it and becomes the real anti-Naples

Juve's sensational defeat (the fourth) against Sampdoria: the bianconeri are no longer the winners of the past years and slip to four points behind Napoli – Inter take advantage of this, defeating Atalanta and flying to second place

Juve collapses, Inter overrides it and becomes the real anti-Naples

Inter puts the arrow, Juve stands by and watches. Sunday in the championship saw the Nerazzurri win again but above all the defeat of the Bianconeri in Genoa, heavy results in terms of the Scudetto not so much for points (after all we are only in November) as for signals. In fact, it is evident that Allegri's team is no longer the steamroller of previous years and that the title, never like this year, is truly within everyone's reach.

Napoli is definitely smiling (+ 4 on the Lady) but Inter and Roma too (a match to recover) can rejoice: walking is very important and dreams of glory are no longer a taboo. “When I win, all the titles are fine for me, even that we are anti-Naples – commented Spalletti. – Icardi is very strong but the successes belong to everyone, we played well, conceding very little to an excellent team like Atalanta. I've seen a mature team that knows where to take the game and where to go”.

A lot of satisfaction for the Nerazzurri coach, it couldn't be otherwise. His Inter is still undefeated after 13 days, he navigates to second place in the standings just 2 points behind Napoli, he has the second best defense of the tournament (precisely with the Azzurri) and he has a pedigree bomber, capable of removing chestnuts from the fire and decide matches almost by himself. Against Atalanta Mauro Icardi made the difference again: his brace that decided the match, two header goals from a true center forward (51' and 60') that converted what had been a clear supremacy over men into points by Gasperini. Solid defense, organization of the game, cynicism and a lot of hunger: in short, the opposite of Juventus, which will also have the best squad in the championship but, at this rate, risks losing the Scudetto from its shirt in favor of someone else. Let's be clear, losing against Giampaolo's Sampdoria (by far the revelation of the tournament) fits, all the more against Marassi where the Blucerchiati have made a clear run up to now (6 wins in as many games), what leaves one perplexed however is the way in which defeat has come.

In fact, Juve had the territorial dominance for the entire first half, but then, at the first difficulty (Zapata's header in the 52nd minute), the collapse you don't expect, or at least you wouldn't expect from a battleship like that. Instead of reacting, the bianconeri deflated like balloons and so Torreira's 2-0 came first (71'), then Ferrari's 3-0 (79'). A very heavy result, mitigated only in part by the final goals from Higuain (91' from a penalty) and Dybala (94'), which changed the result but not the substance: Juve is no longer what it was before and its reign, now more what ever, is at great risk. Accused Massimiliano Allegri, guilty of having left Dybala and Douglas Costa on the bench, the very two who, once they entered, changed gears in the Juventus attack.

“I would make the same choices again also because, up until the 1-0 draw, we had conceded practically nothing – the coach's defence. – Explaining this defeat is difficult, it's a game that leaves me speechless and then, when you lose, it's better to keep quiet. They were good but we too had played well, then something inexplicable happened. Let's accept defeat, then we'll analyze what didn't work." The doubt had already come to us for a few weeks, but now we are certain: the reign of Juve is no longer safe. And at the gates of the moat there are many more fierce opponents than ever.
