US consumer confidence falls in July. The University of Michigan index dropped to 72 points from 73,2 points in June. Expectations were for a slight rise to 73,5 points. Instead, the figure dropped to its lowest level since December.

In detail, the index that measures the current situation stands at 83,2 points, that on expectations at 64,8 and inflation expectations are at 2,8%.
