The right conquers Piedmont but the Democratic Party consoles itself with Florence, Bergamo and Bari

The center-right with the force Alberto Cirio, also supported by the League, conquered the Piedmont region defeating the outgoing Governor, Sergio Chiamparino (Pd), who in the past had also been mayor of Turin, by more than 10 percentage points (49% to 36%). All the northern regions are now in the hands of the centre-right and the new governor of Piedmont has promised the realization of the Table, which was a workhorse of Chiamparino himself.

But the Democratic Party and above all the Renzian area have redone themselves in the symbolic cities: Florence, Bari and Bergano. TO Florence, fiefdom of Matteo Renzi, the outgoing mayor Dario Nardella he swept the first round with over 57% of the votes, with an advantage of over 30 points over Bocci, from the centre-right. "A sensational result, beyond all expectations", comments the re-elected mayor.

Another confirmation in the first round – even more unexpected due to the breadth of success – is that of Giorgio gori, to which the voters have entrusted a second mandate to the Municipality of Bergamo with 55,3% of the votes, against 39,3% of the Northern League Stucchi. On the eve of this was one of the challenges that seemed most poised.

Also to Bari the outgoing Pd mayor prevailed, Antonio DeCaro, re-elected with over about 66% of the votes. Reconfirmation for a Pd mayor, Matteo ricci, also to Pesaro. And the centre-left holds onto the first round too Lecce e Modena. In all, therefore, you are the capital city. The center-right instead confirms itself a Perugia and Urbino and win in the first round Pavia, Vibo Valentia e Pescara.

There are 16 cities that will definitely go to the ballot: in nine the centre-right is ahead.

The 5 Star Movement loses Livorno, where the center-left candidate, the journalist, will compete for the second round Luca Salvetti, and the centre-right candidate Andrew Romiti. Nogarin, the outgoing mayor of Grillino, is in third position.
