The Chinese don't like Coca Cola (anymore), national drinks are better

Last April, the Chinese factory where Coca Cola is bottled (in Shanxi) had to admit chlorine contamination in its bottles. And since then the image of Coca Cola – always at the top of the best known brands in the world – has suffered a severe blow. Perhaps the rest of the world does not know Wahaha (mineral water) and Jiaduobao (herbal tea), but these two beverages, according to the Chinese National Radio, are installed in the first two places in a survey which offered participants an 'index of satisfaction' with the top 12 beverages (non-alcoholic) sold in China. Coca Cola took last place.

Even before April, Coke had another problem in America. The Center for Science in the Public Interest, a US consumer advocacy group, had accused the company of using unacceptable levels of a carcinogenic chemical compound to make the caramel coloring used in the drink.
