All 'Lund University, Sweden, a new ranking of universities in the world has been presented. A ranking that differs from the others because it also takes into account the institutional environment in which the university is inserted. Those who want to study, and this is especially true for those who want to go to study abroad, choose not only a university but also a country.
And this ranking, elaborated by the Melbourne Institute of Applied Economic and Social Research, University of Melbourne, also takes into account the resources – public or private – that the country devotes to tertiary education, the 'product' (research, research impact, and graduates with the skills appropriate to what the labor market demands), the 'connectivity ' (network of external contacts, which protects against insularity) and the environment, in the sense of rules, regulations, diversity and opportunities for participation. The top five countries are: the United States, Sweden, Canada, Finland and Denmark. Out of 48 countries examined, Italy is in 30th place, after Spain, Ukraine, Portugal, Slovenia and Greece.
