Growing China and Suffocating China. The problems of pollution

The two faces of Chinese growth have stood out clearly in recent days: on the one hand, the good news on the economy: GDP, retail sales, PMI indices, corporate profits, industrial production, all exceeded analysts' expectations. On the other hand, the images of big cities, from Beijing to Shanghai, oppressed by smog, which in turn led to uncontrolled growth.
