The stock market rebounds, Volkswagen collapses

European price lists in positive territory with the exception of Frankfurt where the Volkswagen disaster weighs - The German case comes close to FCA, BMW and Daimler more affected - Eni rises (and then slows down) on the rumors of a CDP entry into Saipem - Intesa grows among the banks – Luxottica and Moncler shine

The stock market rebounds, Volkswagen collapses

 European price lists in positive ground with the exception of Frankfurt -0,8%, bent by the Volkswagen storm which lost over 21,5%.

In Milan, the Ftse Mib index recorded an increase of more than 0,7%, just below Paris +0,8% but ahead of Madrid +0,6% and London +0,4%.

Piazza Affari is conditioned by the detachment of the advance dividend Eni (0,40 euros). The stock rose by 2,2%, then folded to 14,42 euros, thanks to the rumors about the ongoing negotiations for the entry of CDP into the subsidiary Saipem +0,9%: the negotiations could close by October with CDP which should buy 20% of Saipem from Eni and subsequently subscribe to a maxi capital increase of 3 billion euros.

StM gains 0,9%: the stock pays a coupon of 0,1 euro.

 Volkswagen drops by 21,5%. The auto giant risks a maxi fine of 18 billion dollars in the United States after admitting to having rigged the authorities by installing software on several models that deceives the detection systems of nitrogen oxides, poisonous substances present in exhaust fumes. The company apologized to customers yesterday and said it had launched an investigation.

The news also weighs on the other German manufacturers: both BMW and Daimler show declines of between 3 and 4%.

Fiat Chrysler it is down by 1,6%. The Stoxx index of European automotive companies plunges and loses 6%.

 
Telecom  Italy -0,1%. According to CEO Marco Patuano, the agreement with Mediaset for the distribution of content will be operational very soon, the one with Netflix at the end of October.

Bene Mediaset +2,6% after the growth of pay TV subscriptions.

Among the banks, Intesa rises 2,2%. MontePaschi + 0,4% Unicredit -0,1%.

Finally, luxury stocks did well in the wake of the rebound of the Shanghai stock exchange (+1,91%).

Luxottica earns 2,8%, Moncler + 2%.
