The Stock Exchange is holding up: luxury and utilities are good, Telecom and Mediaset are bad

After yesterday's crash, Piazza Affari recovers and closes in positive territory, unlike other European lists – Ferrari, Moncler and Italgas shine – Telecom and Mediaset slip.

Backlash from Piazza Affari, which ends timidly positive, +0,15%, 20.814 points, thanks to the rebound of some stocks and theexcellent performance by Italgas, +5,29%. The other European lists were weak: Paris -0,5%, London -0,28%, Frankfurt -0,24%; Madrid -0,07%.

On the secondary, the 10-year Btp Italia settles at a yield of 2,18%, in line with yesterday's close, the differential with the Bund rises by 1,88%, 188.30 points. The Italian paper continues to pay the price of the possibility of early elections, even if, among analysts, voices are beginning to be raised in favor of this prospect. The elections in September, in fact, could prove to be the lesser evil, in a context of unpopular choices to lower the public debt and to deal with the many open dossiers; actions that, taken before the elections, could favor the anti-euro forces. Among the sources of concern are the Veneto banks, after the EU request for additional private recapitalization. Today the Atlante fund wrote that, at the moment, there are no conditions for other investments.

Wall Street opens uncertainly, in the wake of numerous macro data, even if the Nasdaq, halfway through the session, raises its head. Of note: the Amazon stock which, for the first time, broke the $XNUMX-per-share cap

On the foreign exchange front: the euro-dollar cross is not moved much, 1,118. Among raw materials, there is a new drop in oil, with Brent at 51,67 dollars a barrel, -1,67%.

In Piazza Affari, sales hit Mediaset first of all, -2,08% which yesterday was saved from the general stampede. The Biscione is affected by Brussels decisions on Telecom, which in turn experienced a negative session, -1,89%. The EU Commission has conditional the green light to Vivendi for de facto control of Telecom on the sale of Persidera, the television frequency company of the Italian TLC group.

Banks down for the fourth consecutive session, especially Banco Bpm -2,33%. Intesa fell by 0,62%, despite JP Morgan having revised upwards the recommendations on the bank's shares, to 'overweight', focusing on: generous dividends, good performance of the interest margin, higher than expected performance of asset management. Among the insurance companies, Generali falls -1,28%.

Many blue chips recovering. On the shields the utilities, with Italgas, on the eve of the presentation of the 2023 plan. Terna also did well +1,05% and A2a +1,38%.

Ferrari in the race, +2,54%, even if the safe of the Agnelli family, Exor, leaves 2,2% on the ground. Moncler is back +2,54%. Purchases on Stm +2,14%; Leonardo +2,23%; Campari +1,8%; Buzzi +1,94%; Atlantic +1,28%. Oil at different speeds: Eni +0,28%; Tenaris -0,36%; Saipem -1,99%.
