The Stock Exchange recovers but slows down in the final: Ftse Mib close to 21 thousand

European markets closed slightly higher, after losing altitude in the afternoon following the negative opening of Wall Street, which is currently recording losses of more than a percentage point on the day of Uber's debut.

Piazza Affari limits the rebound to 0,28 and remains below 21 thousand points. However, the Unipol galaxy is flying (Unipol +3,84% and Unipolsai +3,85%), thanks to a good quarterly result and the 2021 business plan approved by via Stalingrado, which provides for an increase in financial targets compared to the previous plan. The banks were mixed, while taking some profits on stocks that ran in the last few sessions such as Amplifon, -4,3%. Bonds also appear cautious: the yield on the 10-year BTP rises to 2,68%, but the spread with the Bund drops to 272.40 basis points (-0,69%). On Italian paper, fears related to political uncertainty and the risk of a new clash with the EU over public finances continue to be felt.

In the rest of Europe, Frankfurt, +0,72%, records the rally of ThyssenKrupp (+28,35%) which, after the merger with Tata Steel (-6,23% in Mumbai), aims to list the lift division ; Paris +0,27%, with EssilorLuxottica increasing by 3,96% in view of an agreement between shareholders before next Thursday's shareholders' meeting; Madrid +0,25%; London -0,09%.

Wall Street moves in the red and could end the worst week of the year due to trade tensions with China. Tariff increases from 10% to 25% on 200 billion dollars of Chinese imports were triggered at midnight in the US and after yesterday's meetings (which continue today) President Donald Trump speaks of "cordial" but "unhurried" talks reach an agreement. On the macroeconomic front, there is a lower-than-expected rise in consumer prices, which highlights a weakness in underlying inflation. Consequently, the dollar is declining, while the euro appreciates and the cross between the two currencies is currently in the 1,124 area.

Oil was positive: Brent +0,51%, 70,75 dollars a barrel. Solid gold approaching 1289 dollars an ounce. Luxury stands out in Piazza Affari: Ferragamo +2,81%: Moncler +3,21%.

The Florentine maison benefits from the upgrade from Morgan Stanley which expects good quarterly results next Tuesday, while Moncler announced growing sales in the first quarter "slightly beating expectations despite the most difficult comparison base in its history", as Morgan always points out Stanley in a report in which he reiterates his "overweight". On the other hand, the accounts of Tod's are disappointing (revenues below expectations), which loses 1,8%.

Among the worst blue chips are Banco Bpm, -2,06%; Finecobank -1,28%; Juventus -1,24%.
