Kabul, the massacre left 170 dead: reprisals have already begun

"We will strike with precision", says the president of the United States, suggesting that after the retreat an immediate anti-terrorism plan will still be implemented, using bases in neighboring countries. First drone strike: Two terrorists killed. “We will strike again”

Kabul, the massacre left 170 dead: reprisals have already begun

In the end, the toll from the Kabul airport massacre was very heavy: as many as 170 American civilian and military dead (13 Marines), and at this point President Joe Biden cannot fail to react. Also because the general Kenneth McKenzie warns: "We fear other ambushes, the next few days are the most dangerous". So the evacuation is confirmed, possibly by the August 31 deadline, but Biden is studying retaliation for this. “We will hunt you down. America does not forgive, we will take revenge. We will strike the leadership, facilities and assets of those responsible for Isis-K, the arm of the Islamic State in Afghanistan. We will respond with strength and precision, where and when we choose to do so,” Biden said in harsh and precise words, which recalled those of George Bush after September 11, 2001.

“Our work is not finished. We can get out of the country, not get out of the war on terrorism. We will carry out various operations in the field, because with the Taliban the resurrection of al Qaeda is certain”, confirmed the former head of the CIA Leon Panetta, speaking on CNN. The CIA had in fact planned the gradual reduction of counter-terrorism operations to return to traditional espionage, hoping to focus on Russia and China. The attack, on the other hand, changes everything and Afghanistan risks absorbing its forces again. The work, says the New York Times, has already begun: negotiations with the countries of Central Asia to obtain new bases (and the Russians are already saying they do not want to grant them where they are most influential) necessary for espionage but also for logistics: they will be used to launch attacks with drones and any other field operations. It actually arrived today the first attack by drone, who killed two Isis K terrorists in Afghanistan, at least according to US press reports.

Another US counterattack, launched with the intention of stopping the organization of another terrorist action in time, took place on Sunday, with a rocket hitting a building near Kabul airport, where they were hiding ISIS militants. American forces fired a rocket that allegedly killed civilians as well.
