Juventus and Ubi Banca: the economy explained to the youngest

The final lesson of the financial training and education program aimed at one hundred students attending the Juventus high school was held at J College, in the WINS – World International School of Turin auditorium. The initiative, the result of an agreement between Juventus, Ubi Banca and the Foundation for Financial Education and Savings, involved speakers and students in lessons and group work which integrated the educational program of the Juventus College during the school year .

The event was opened by greetings from Stefano Braghin, head of Academy Organizational Department and Juventus Women, and by Vincent Algiers, responsible of Ubi Community, the commercial division of Ubi Banca dedicated to the various realities of the Third Sector, the Civil Economy, Public Bodies and Associative Systems, which oversees, among other things, financial education programmes.

A round table addressed, from different angles, the urgency of disseminating and raising among the population, starting from the youngest, the skills of economic citizenship that are now indispensable in today's society, focusing above all on the value of providing very young sports professionals with the tools to make informed choices. They brought their point of view Stefano Braghin (Head of Academy Organizational Department and Juventus Women), Marco Franco Nava (Head of the North West Macro Territorial Area of UBI Banca),Franco Cossard (Dean J College), e Igor Lazzaroni (Head of the Press Office for Editorial Projects of the Foundation for Financial and Savings Education).

Through the conference "Choose What I Want", organized by the training and scientific communication company Taxi1729, the students benefited from a interactive lesson on behavioral economics. In it, the mechanisms of the most basic of economic operations have been described and explained: choice. Choice, for example, between buying a house by taking out a mortgage with a bank or continuing to pay the rent, or between buying a smartphone in cash or by binding a 24-month contract with a telephone provider.

"Training in rational and ethical economic choices fits perfectly into the program and educational goals of our high school" - he says Stefano BraghinHead of Academy Organizational Department and Juventus Women – “The approach brought to the classroom by Ubi Banca and Feduf proved to be effective, concretely and through active involvement in transferring to the students concepts and notions of fundamental importance for their lives”.

“This day is the conclusion of a journey shared with FEduF and Juventus” – he comments Vincenzo Algeri, head of the Ubi Community Area of Ubi Banca – “designed to offer young students of J College an opportunity to develop the necessary economic skills both in their present and, in perspective, for their personal future. We have provided young people with the conceptual tools and basic notions to approach the conscious use of money, in response to the growing demand for financial competence, which is now necessary at all ages. It is a path that is part of a broader program that sees UBI Banca working on these issues in all the territories in which it is present, creating partnerships with provincial school offices, universities and teachers".
