Juventus-Atalanta 3-1, last goal and exciting standing ovation for Del Piero

Juve celebrates the scudetto with the unbeaten record and with the 3-1 victory over Atallanta before the celebration for the tricolor began in the stadium and in the city. But Juve-Atalanta was above all the farewell match for a great champion like Alex Del Piero who honored it with a goal. When the captain left, the whole stadium gave him a very long and emotional standing ovation while the black and white crowd wept with emotion. With the usual Del Piero style, visibly excited, he went around the field greeting everyone with elegance and sobriety. And when he lifted the Scudetto trophy, the crowd literally went into a frenzy. With his farewell the curtain falls on a historic phase of Juve that has always seen him as a great protagonist, on and off the pitch. As the club also said, Del Piero is – together with Boniperti and Platini – one of the three major icons of Juve.

If now the president Andrea Agnelli found the strength to make a sensational reverse by recalling Del Piero to the team after having decreed the divorce too early and too hastily, he would send the Juventus public into a frenzy and strengthen his leadership. For now he has said that Del Piero will remain captain forever.

Juve therefore crowns its scudetto by also conquering the unbeaten record for the entire season and Sunday awaits the final of the Italian Cup in Rome against Naples.

The other goals were from brown, then an own goal from Lichsteiner and a penalty converted by Barzagli. The only fly in the ointment is a muscle injury to Chiellini which puts his participation in the cup final in jeopardy.
