How is it possible that despite the victory of the Scudetto and the new stadium, which represents a real money machine especially in the medium-long term, Juventus will close the 30-2011 financial statements with a loss on 12 June?
This was explained by the general manager and managing director of the Juventus club, Giuseppe Marotta, during a conference held at the SDA Bocconi in Milan. Juventus, which in the nine months between July and March recorded a loss of around 40 million, is therefore preparing to close another financial year with a loss, even if red will be much lower than the monstre (over 95 million) recorded at the end of the 2010-11 season.
Marotta explained that the new Juventus Stadium has tripled stadium revenues of the Juventus club and this will allow for a great leap forward in revenues, with still ample room for growth in terms of revenues. "I think that we are using our new plant only at 50%. We are studying numerous initiatives that in the near future could help increase our company's revenues”, explained Marotta, referring above all to conferences and marketing events. For this reason, the manager continued, "it is increasingly necessary for the invisible team that manages the club's strategy to have the most advanced possible managerial skills".
