Polimoda junior summer camp in partnership with Otb Foundation: design and charity for the Bambin Gesù children

With the closure of the last edition of the Polimoda Junior Summer Camp, a new wave of creativity and solidarity invaded the classrooms and laboratories of the prestigious Florentine fashion school. This year, the central theme was Costume Design, with fourteen girls aged 10 to 13 participating in a week of learning and play, with a charitable goal: support the ludic assistance project for the pediatric oncology department of the Bambin Gesù, an initiative promoted by Renzo Rosso's Otb Foundation.

The summer camp as a catalyst for creativity and solidarity

The event, held in partnership with the Otb Group and in collaboration with Pitti Immagine, had a dual purpose: nurture the creativity and talent of the young participants and, at the same time, contribute to a noble cause. The funds raised during the initiative will be donated to the Otb Foundation, a non-profit organization which, since 2006, has carried out hundreds of social impact projects all over the world.

The attention of the young participants was captured by the world of costume design, exploring sources of inspiration ranging from folklore to legends, from history to contemporary culture. Under the expert guidance of Polimoda tutors, the girls had the opportunity to create their own prototype costumes, giving life to a process of experimentation on shapes, drapes and decorations.

Sustainable and creative fashion at the heart of the project

One of the most significant aspects of the summer camp was its sustainable approach. In collaboration with the Otb Group, the young participants were available materials from fabric remnants from the Diesel collections and a variety of accessories, thus helping to reduce waste and promoting greater awareness of sustainability in the fashion industry.

At the end of the week, the final creations were presented together with the preparatory sketches and moodboards that had guided the creative process. Each little girl has created a unique project, demonstrating their talent and dedication to the charitable cause.

The Polimoda Junior Summer Camp demonstrated once again the strong commitment of the partners involved in supporting the next generation of talent. The event highlighted the importance of uniting the fashion industry with charity, acting as a positive catalyst in society. The initiative has been able to engage and motivate young creative minds, at the same time contributing to a worthy cause and making the project a testimony of solidarity and hope, from the hearts of children for the benefit of children.
