Italy and France risk a tightening of the deficit procedure. This was stated by the president of the EU commission Jean-Claude Juncker, during an interview with the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung newspaper: if France and Italy do not respect the agreements and do not proceed with the announced reforms, in fact, the European measure will arrive.
Trust in time, therefore, for Italians and French, "and then we'll see, in March, how it will go: the governments have guaranteed us that they will do what they announced". At the same time, Juncker defends the European Commission's decision to give Italy and France more time to comply with the rules of the Stability Pact, denying, however, the idea that the two countries have enjoyed a discount.
