Jobs Act, Visco: steps in the right direction

The governor of Bank of Italy Ignazio Visco break a spear in favor of the Jobs Act explaining that "Italy has taken important steps in the right direction" also with this reform that the Renzi government is implementing.

During a seminar at the Catholic University entitled 'Human capital and growth', the number 1 of the Bank of Italy told the students that "the mechanisms that regulate the functioning of the labor market must be adapted to the new technological context and competitive” and that therefore the reforms of 2012 and that of the Jobs Act are moving in the right direction.

During the seminar, Governor Visco emphasized three important points related to the theme of work: the reduction of segmentation between different categories of workers, theincreased inbound and outbound flexibility, accompanied by an expansion of measures to support unemployed workers and the review, still to be completed, of active policies. “Benefits can derive from this – added Visco – in terms of a more efficient allocation of the workforce towards the most productive sectors and companies, and greater incentives, both for workers and entrepreneurs, to invest in the continuous upgrading of skills and of knowledge".
