Jobs Act: first yes from the Chamber

The Jobs Act gets the go-ahead in the Labor Committee in the Chamber and tomorrow it will land in the Chamber. It cannot be ruled out that the Government will also place its trust in this provision: “We are ready to introduce it if needed, we will evaluate it at the right time. We will see,” Prime Minister Matteo Renzi told Rtl. The green light is scheduled for Wednesday 26 November.

For definitive approval, however, the delegation will have to return to Palazzo Madama, since the text has been modified in Montecitorio. Among the changes made to the text, the agreement reached in the majority on the amendments to article 18, especially in terms of disciplinary dismissals, for which - in some cases - the possibility of the worker's reinstatement will be envisaged.

The Jobs act "is not an isolated reform, but is part of this government's ambitious reform program to increase the country's competitiveness and to make Italy more attractive to foreign investment", said the minister of Lavoro, Giuliano Poletti, reiterating that the Government aims to introduce "new, simple, clear rules that help businesses to invest" to promote employment.

Furthermore, according to Poletti, with the Jobs act Italy carries out a “decisive modernization on the supply side to increase employment. But it is also necessary to intervene on the demand pillar: public and private investments are the other essential element for development and growth”.

Finally, with regard to the implementing decrees, the minister specified that "all the comments and considerations reported in the press in recent days refer to texts which, at present, do not exist", because only "after the definitive approval of the enabling law , the conclusion of this work will allow the proposal of the implementing decrees to be presented to the Council of Ministers.

“Very well, the farce of declarations has come to an end – commented the chairman of the chamber labor commission, Cesare Damiano –, above all by Ncd, which give the impression that they know the content of the delegated decrees on the Jobs act or that they have even been written with the ministry. We are happy because we are starting from scratch and we will do our part. We thank the minister for having said a clear word on the delegated decrees".
