With the amendments approved today by the Senate Labor Committee, the delegation that completes the Jobs act is strengthened, the law on the labor market should obtain the go-ahead from Palazzo Madama at the beginning of October and then pass to the Chamber to be dismissed within the year.

Even if the real crux is postponed to Tuesday: that article 4 of which the Labor commission continues to postpone the examination of the amendments and which delegates the Government to reorganize the contractual forms in force, in the context of which the physiognomy of the new contract with increasing protection and therefore the perimeter of application of article 18 of the Workers' Statute.

“The examination of the amendments to article 4 is postponed to Tuesday 16 September. The conclusion of the Commission's work is expected by Wednesday 17 and the start of the examination of the bill in the classroom on 23 or (more likely) 24 September, with the prospect of the final vote in first reading by the end of the month, or early October”, Senator Pietro Ichino, a former Pd who later passed to the centrists of Civic Choice, wrote on his blog today precisely in disagreement with the potions of the Democratic Party on the subject of Welfare.

The knot, entirely political, will have to be resolved by the government by mediating between the Pd minority - who do not want to hear about the cancellation of article 18 - and the centrists, who also support the executive, in favor of replacing the reinstatement in the Jobs Act work with compensation.

Meanwhile, the solution of "solidarity holidays" arrives from France: an option at no cost to the State which allows public and private employees to transfer, compatibly with the right to weekly rest and paid annual holidays, "all or part of the additional days of rest due under the national collective agreement in favor of the parent worker of a minor child who requires physical presence and constant care due to particular health conditions".
