New investments by Italian companies in Great Britain for 485 million pounds (574 million euros) have been announced by Keir Starmer on the occasion of his visit to Rome to meet Giorgia Meloni and, first, delegations of some companies. These are investments in the sectors of defense, sustainable growth and innovation: £435m from Leonardo e 50 million from Marcegaglia, the British government specifies in a note.
Italy-UK, Starmer: how much is trade worth?
“Our trade relations are flourishing, our interchange vale 50 billion pounds. New investment decisions, including the £485m announced today, will boost the jobs and growth and demonstrate our solid business relationship“, reads the joint statement that the prime ministers of the two countries signed today.
“We intend to further strengthen cooperation on strengthening people-to-people relations and strongly support optimizing existing opportunities for high school students to visit and study in both our countries,” the statement said, without adding anything about youth mobility after the Brexit.
