30 importers from 12 countries on 4 continents (including: USA, China, Japan, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Great Britain, France, Holland, Denmark and Poland), strategic for the wine market, to discover wine Italian i quality, to be exact of over 35 Italian producers, representing 14 different regions.
These figures summarize the meaning of the Italian Taste Summit event, created to facilitate knowledge and business between high-level wineries in the Bel Paese and important international buyers, which was held at the Grand Hotel de la Minerve in Piazza della Minerva , in Rome.
"Made in Italy - highlights Joanna Miro , owner of Wine Global Aspect, a company specialized in the export sale of Italian wines through market studies capable of guaranteeing adequate management and positioning of the product, who organized the event - is certainly one of the most renowned and important brands in the world, which should have no difficulty establishing itself on all markets. With this conviction, and with the aim of fully developing the immense potential of Italian companies, the Italian Taste Summit project was born. If it is usually the winemakers who go abroad to make their products known, we do the opposite, bringing the players we consider fundamental to Italian soil. Among other things, in this way we are able to better perceive the true value of Italian wine, which unquestionably resides in the link with the various territories that make up the peninsula".
The participating realities are involved in two days of intense B2B activities. A useful opportunity to make up for lost ground due to the health emergency and restore luster and internationality to Italian wines.
The moment of meeting was the dinner signed by Antonio Falco, chef of the Grand Hotel de la Minerve, author of a menu based on excellent products of the Peninsula with dishes such as the Millefoglie buckwheat with white game ragù, crunchy pistachio and creamy pecorino cheese and cured and smoked pork loin cooked gently with aromatic spices. Accompanying the gastronomic journey were the wines of some of the leading wineries of the ITS: Asolo Prosecco Superiore DOCG Millesimato (EB) “Serenitatis” Collection (Montelvini), Gambellara Classico DOC 2015 (Cantine di Gambellara 1947-Vitevis), Montecucco Rosso DOC 2017 “Tiniatus” (Le Pianore), Roma DOC Rosso 2016 Limited Edition (Poggio Le Volpi), Toscana IGT Chardonnay 2011 “Serra de' Cocci” (Tenuta Pakravan Papi).
“Right now – observed Miro – there is an ongoing change in the nature of the markets, which consequently change their needs. Due to the global difficulties in the restaurant sector, new openings are opening up in the retail sector for domestic consumption. This especially benefits companies with a medium-high target, which produce quality wines with a well-constructed identity. It is therefore essential to adapt and know how to seize new opportunities. This contributes to increasing the value and usefulness of events such as the Italian Taste Summit.
