Italy: exports run like Germany and surpass France

Italian exports continue to run. After the data from Istat for the month of August, which compared to the same month in 2016 recorded a +8,4% driven by the record for made in Italy products, those from Confindustria also arrived which in the report "Industrial Scenarios 2017, underlines Italy's remarkable performance on exports.

In detail, in the chapter "Innovation: the effects on work and company performance - Italy's position in global value chains" edited by the director of the Confindustria Study Center, Luca Paolazzi, it is highlighted that since 2010 our exports have increased, at constant prices, by an annual average of 3,2%, a pace that allowed our country to catch up with Germany, which recorded an annual average of +3,3% and surpass and distance France. Now, Spain is in the sights, at the top of the ranking of the main European countries.

“This exploit – underlines the CSC – means that the Italian manufacturing trade surplus remains well above the pre-crisis average levels (20,1% of manufacturing value added”). The balance with non-EU countries is particularly high (26,2% in the first half of 2017), albeit down from the maximum of 34,2% in 2013”.
