Positive signals coming from Italian industry. According to the numbers published this morning by Markit/Adaci, in July the PMI index relating to manufacturing production in our country it stood at an altitude 55,3 points, against 54,1 in June. This is the highest figure since April 2011.

For the sixth consecutive month, therefore, the index remained above the threshold of 50 points, which marks the boundary between expansion and contraction of activity. 

The Markit/Adaci note also states that the growth in demand has stimulated new hires, while higher selling prices have offset higher costs.

The sub-index on new orders, on the other hand, rose last month to 57 points (against 54,7 in June), the highest since February 2011.
