Paolo Gallo, CEO of Italgas, confirms the group's growth plans. The occasion is the final day of Borsa Italiana's Equity Week which took stock of infrastructure.

While awaiting the launch of the next tenders relating to the assignment of concessions for the gas distribution service in the territorial areas of Belluno, Venice, Carrara and Monza, the managing director of Italgas, Paolo Gallo, repeated that the leading group of the sector in Italy aims to consolidate its current market share, currently at 34 percent. Investments up to 5 billion by 2023 have also been confirmed to grow not only through participation in gas tenders, but also with M&A operations, when possible.

On this front, the group controlled by Cassa Depositi e Prestiti is competing to take over part of the Italian activities of Gas Natural, with the deadline for submitting an offer set for the end of September. This is 7.000 km of network, especially in southern Italy, with an estimated value of the Rab between 500 and 600 million euros.
