Italgas christens Bludigit, the group's new IT company

Italias baptizes Bludigit Spa., the new subsidiary in which “the activities of Information Technology of the Group and the Digital Factory, the technological innovation hub created to develop digital solutions that enable business transformation". A note from the group communicates it.

Will Marco Barra Caracciolo, former Chief Information Officer of Italgas, the president and managing director of the new company which can count on the skills of over one hundred people and was born with assets worth around 100 million euro and more than 100 contracts for a total value of over 300 million of Euro.

Bludigit will allow Italgas to further rationalize IT activities in terms of efficiency and control of internal costs while developing new synergies inside and outside the Group in a logic of service providers. Through the new company, the Group intends to "offer cutting-edge proprietary digital solutions by making the skills and applications developed available to other operators in the energy and infrastructure sector en casa".

Marco Barra Caracciolo, a 53-year-old graduate in Electronic Engineering, boasts a deep knowledge of the IT world having held relevant positions in this sector. “Digital transformation – he declared – is the heart of our strategy, the main enabler of the growth path which will also allow us to support the energy transition to achieve the EU objectives for 2030 and 2050. Four years ago, in 2017, we the digitization process began with a visionary choice, the adoption of the public cloud, and continued with a profound corporate transformation in the management of assets, processes and people. The evolution continues. Today, with the birth of Bludigit, we aim to give a further acceleration to this path and to enhance the proprietary technologies developed in our Digital Factory by offering them to operators also from different sectors”.
